Are you all excited about seeing the birthplace of Elvis Presley? Are you anxious to sample some outdoor vacation activity like golf, wildlife observation and swimming? Then it sounds like you’re ready to vacation in Tupelo. This is a city just as fun as it is historically interesting. It is a city that has a great deal of history and culture behind it, but also has plenty of fun in and out of the sun. First things first, however-just how do you travel to Tupelo?
If you are journeying from outside the country, then you must first obtain a passport and all appropriate legal information. Some may think of this city as a primarily American tourist spot, but given Elvis’ worldwide popularity, it’s not so unfeasible that many overseas tourists would love to visit Tupelo. That said, whether you are coming from inside or outside of the country, you will be dealing with an international airport.
The main international airports arriving and leaving the northern area of Mississippi are the Memphis International Airport (which is about an hour and a half away) and the Birmingham International Airport in Alabama, which is about two and a half hours away. The Memphis Airport is northwest of the city while the Alabama airport is southeast. What about Tupelo’s own Tupelo Regional Airport? This is a special Tupelo, MS airport only served by Delta Connection, coming from Memphis.
Once you arrive in the city, you may want to look for a Tupelo Airport car rental. While there are rental services conveniently located near the airport, because of the location, these services are usually the most expensive options. Remember, you can rent a cab or a town car for cheap and then travel to your car rental agency.
Bus transportation is another option instead of using the Tupelo Airport. First off, you could travel by Greyhound bus or Amtrak train to a local station. Secondly, you could take a charter bus around the city to absorb the atmosphere. When someone else drives you, you can take a load off your feet and enjoy the views. Besides, listening to a tour guide explain the odds and ends of the city may be well worth the price of a charter bus.
Whether you are close to Tupelo or coming from far away, it’s easy to plan an itinerary. Use local transportation services to make your vacation easier and far more enjoyable.
